Suzi Toole for VP
For a union that listens and fights for all of us.
WHY I'M STANDING
We are at critical juncture in education. 14 years of austerity and a disappointing start to a new government have taught us that what our sector needs will not be freely given. It must be fought for, and I'm up for a fight.
Members across Higher Education, Further Education and Prison Education feel unheard, unsupported, and uncertain about the future.
We face:
-
No national bargaining, pay scales or agreed contact hours in FE
-
Mass redundancies and cuts in HE despite hikes in student fees
-
Unsafe conditions and chronic underfunding in Prison Education
-
Adult education funding cut to the bone and staff on insecure contracts
-
Spiralling workloads across every sector and the exploitation of casualised workers
We know education shapes every future, lifts people out of poverty, and changes countless lives. It is the cornerstone of thriving communities and social cohesion.
But Post-16 education needs structural change, not empty promises. To deliver real change, we as a union must be bold, determined, and relentless.
We need meaningful policies and properly resourced sectors. I’m ready to fight for transformative change.
Our committed members need it.
Our students deserve it.
If you share my vision, I’d be honoured to have your support as we work together to transform our sectors.
Real change happens when we work together, hold a shared vision, and unite in common purpose.
